“I became the woman who would have protected the child me”. – Finding Susan
Dear Susan,
You carried the weight of an adult yet you were just a child. Life would have seemed so cruel and cold from an early age. Yet you have been incredibly strong, and so courageous. Despite the pain, you are kind and giving. A beautiful spirit lost in a cold unloving world
Thank you for protecting and getting us through the horrors endured. I want to tell you how much I love and value you for now I realize how brave you were, we are.
Life has been a roller-coaster, battles fought and won, some lost yet lessons were learned. You made it through. Some days it may not seem that way, but we have. Look how far we came. Without you being strong, so young, we would not have made it.
You are not what the bad people said. They never believed. Heard your cries but ignored them. You were innocent thrust into a world where your childhood was stolen. No one was there to help. You were all alone. But you survived, you are a fighter. A warrior who’ll become a Warrior Queen, the world your Kingdom to explore.
There is beauty and love in the world. But you built walls, a fortress that one day will need to come down. We will not need high-level security, cordoning off our life. That is a barrier that will prevent us from enjoying so many things. And you can love, boy can we love. But we must never give our all. Save some love for us. Never be second-rate, for you are number one.
You will have a loving family, which will be down to you, your legacy. You will have amazing grandchildren to show you the joys of childhood. You are never too old to splash in puddles, kick leaves, play in the waves, and enjoy the swing’s thrill.
You can achieve great things. You already have. Enjoy the freedom that life can offer.
Just be you. You are beautiful, filled with love and light.
Blessings
Your Older Self
